Six Nights, Full Package

Welcome to a very special place. A place known by National Geographic to be the most biologically intense area on earth... A place where large groups of dolphins, whales, sea turtles and manta rays swim in clear blue tropical waters and where Humpback whales come from two different hemispheres to have their babies and breed.

Let our long term experience show you the very best of Costa Rica... the Osa Peninsula and specifically, Drake Bay, Costa Rica.

Costa Rica enjoys the longest season of Humpback Whales in the world as we get migrations from both North and South America.  Groups of hundreds and even thousands of dolphins enjoy the warm, tropical waters here. It is truly one of the best places to experience dolphins and whales as we have so many different species close to shore. Be sure to check out our photos and videos!

You will also experience all the wonders of Costa Rica's crown jewel rainforest, tours to Corcovado National Park including including monkeys, sloths, toucans and macaws. In Drake Bay and Corcovado National Park you can see plants and animals found no where else in the world.

Only in Drake Bay, Costa Rica will you find this incredible combination of wildlife both on land and at sea.  Come explore the most biologically intense place on earth, both on land and at sea!

Here is your incredible sample itinerary for the week. We can adjust the schedule and tours according to your desires and needs:

Day 1 - Arrive in San Jose, Costa Rica and spend the night at our recommended hotel in San Jose.

Day 2 - Fly directly to Drake Bay and arrive at Hotel Ojala.  Hotel Ojala has a great location on a hill overlooking the bay, only 200 meters from the ocean.  Rooms are air-conditioned, the only such option in Drake Bay, and they have a cool outdoor Jacuzzi too.  You will often eat the fish caught that day and it doesn't get any fresher than that!  Relax, snorkel, horseback ride (must be arranged ahead of time)

Day 3 - Dolphin and Whale Encounter.  Tour starts at 8:00 am and ends between 2 and 3 pm depending on what we see.  Lunch is either on the boat or at San Josecito beach where you can relax and snorkel.  Tours are guided by Sierra, who has over 12 years guiding dolphin and whale encounters and is the founder of The Vida Marina Foundation. Humpback whale sightings are virtually guaranteed this time of year, and we will also get to play with the spotted and perhaps bottlenose dolphins in the area.

Day 4 - Corcovado National Park - After an early breakfast, you leave for Corcovado National Park. The crown jewel of Costa Rica's rainforests and the most biologically intense place on earth, Corcovado is home to 400 species of birds, 140 mammals, 116 species of amphibians and reptiles, 500 species of trees and 6000 species of insects. Corcovado National Park protects several endangered species including jaguar, puma, scarlet macaw, crocodiles, tapir, poison dart and golden frogs and the harpy eagle. Turtles lay their eggs on the beaches. Our experienced guide will help you to see and identify the amazing amount of animals, trees and plants found here. Hike through the rich rainforest and see for yourself what Costa Rica is most famous for. Lunch is served at the Ranger's Station. Back for dinner and sharing of sightseeing stories.

Day 5 - Dolphin and Whale Encounter.

Day 6 - Free day to hike, kayak, visit Cano Island for amazing snorkeling, horseback ride, fly through the air on the canopy tour, or just swing in a hammock.  If enough of the group agrees, we can even do another dolphin and whale tour on this day. These tours are NOT included in the package and are extra. Cost depends on tour chosen.

Day 7 - Return flight to San Jose in the AM

What the price of $1350 includes:

One night at selected hotel in San Jose, taxi to airport, roundtrip flight to/from Drake Bay plus transportation to/from airports, five nights accommodations at Hotel Ojala, two dolphin/whale encounters, one guided tour to Corcovado National Park, all meals while in Drake Bay.
